It is Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, the day before the first round. The first tournament of year always has a special feel. I know a lot of players have already played in 2012 but for the majority this is the first one.
My preparation has been great, my trip to Florida was very successful and the last few days I have spent with Colin here in Abu Dhabi. We are not really doing any new stuff, it is basically just building on what we did last year. My game feels pretty solid but you never really know until you have been out to REALLY find out where it is at.
It is very easy to put too much emphasis on the first tournament because basically we all would love a good start. I try very hard to see it as it is, one tournament out of around 28 for me, not more or less important than the others....
Instead I look at it this way, I am so happy that so far into my career, the excitement, the way I look forward to a new season has never changed. I still feel like a little kid walking into a shop full of sweets. I just cannot wait to get started. Considering this is my 15th season on tour I just feel very privileged to have a job I feel that strongly about.....
